THE Chard Under-7 and Under-8 rugby squads welcomed Wells RFC on Sunday.
The cold windy weather did not dampen anyone of these little lions’ spirits and both teams fought with pure aggression and determination with some fantastic moves from both age groups.
Chard’s defensive line was as solid as a brick wall to keep Wells’ fast players from breaking through, only weakening on occasions.
Both age groups played two matches. The Under-7s drew both games – 5pts-5 and 6pts-6. The Under-8s lost the first match 11pts-10, but won the second game 8pts-7.
Man of the matches were Sam Dunning and James Sullivan.
Under-7s squad: George Rowswell, William Jeanes, Sam Dunning, Oscar Mills, Warren Bowditch, Barney Cooper, Max Webb and Billy.
Under-8s squad: Sam Webber, Kieran Leake, Max Tuttlett, Lilly Margretts, James Sullivan, Seth O’Brien, Craige Jakeman and Harry Clifford.
