A DRAMATIC Combe fight back from three goals down wasn’t quite enough to create a cup upset as Ilchester’s titans hung on to their lead to head into the fourth round of the competition.
Defensive errors allowed Titans a two goal lead early on but after reshuffling their defence Combe finished the first half as the better side with Bradley Minchinton and Owen Richardson going close.
Loose marking at a corner allowed Ilchester to go into a three goal lead after the break but thereafter it was all Combe. Bradley Davies and Kai Coulstock started to impose themselves in central midfield and allowed Angelo Moreira to weave past three players before crashing the ball over the keeper before Tim Pedlar’s free kick was deflected in.
Combe pressed for an equaliser in the closing stages but came up short as the Ilchester defence held out.
