YOUNG people from Chard and the surrounding areas will be rucking, mauling, scrummaging and hopefully scoring a few tries again this year as Chard Rugby Football Club holds its annual Summer Rugby Camp.

Led by two experienced New Zealand coaches and RFU community coach Simon Boyd, the course which runs from July 26-30 at the rugby club in Essex Close will give boys and girls from seven years up the opportunity to try rugby for the first time or improve their skills.

Vickie Hobbs, of Chard RFC, said: “Chard have held a very successful rugby camp over the past few years and we are really excited about this year’s event.

“The young people who attend get such a lot from the training and return year after year.

“It is an excellent course incorporating rugby technique as well as basic fitness, team playing and having fun.”

At a cost of £125 per player, the course represents excellent value for money for children and aims to keep them active and healthy during the summer holidays, as well as having a lot of fun and games along the way.
