ILMINSTER Youth Under-14s were the strongest side in their respective league - for all the wrong reasons!
Manager Ian Lee said: "We ended up bottom of the table and held everyone else up!
"The league has been particularly brilliant with only seven teams entering and one of those pulled out halfway through.
"The problem with that was the team that pulled out was the only side that we beat in the league!"
Ian added: "We have struggled with player numbers this year, but after all this, the players are still improving at their own levels and hopefully we will have success and enjoyment for the final two years."
He added: "My thanks on behalf of the team go to coaches Colin Doble and Adrian Woodland for their energy, support and commitment to the squad.
"Thanks to the squad for putting the nets up and taking them down at the end of a game.
"The mums who took it in turn to wash the kit and Alison Lee for keeping the money in check!
"Thanks must also go to the referee Bradley Welsh for his handling of the games and reliability of attendance.
"And finally a thank you to the parents for their continued support."
