CHARD Under-12s have started the season well winning two out of three games.
The first against Castle Cary scoring 271 runs. Wicket Keeper Batsman D. Grabham struck three boundaries, while S. Reynolds and F.Lewis gained three wickets each with support of excellent fielding from the team.
In the local derby against Ilminster, Chard scored 265-1. All played with great discipline especially A. Veitch and F. Lewis. S. Reynolds claimed four wickets.
Away at North Perrot, Chard scored an impressive 251 with skipper G. Read and the talented A. Veitch putting on 20 runs for the first wicket. S. Reynolds bowled an excellent maiden.
After 12 overs Chard looked to win but the last North Perrott batting pair took the game by winning by one run.
