AVISHAYES Hawks failed to make it to the Champions Cup final after losing to Merriott in the semi-final.
Within five minutes Merriott found space and fired in their first goal but the Hawks didn’t let their heads drop and continued to attack at every opportunity but were unable to breakdown a very organised Merriott defence.
Just before the break Merriott hit their second with a thunderous strike.
After the break the Hawks stepped up a gear and started to put Merriott under some pressure. They were rewarded after some determined play from Jack Woodhouse, whose shot found the bottom corner.
Avishayes committed more players to attack to find the equaliser but the Merriott defence held firm.
Hawks ran out of time but can be proud of their efforts against a very good Merriot side.
