AVISHAYES Falcons entertained llchester Larks on Saturday in cold but otherwise ideal conditions.
Both teams performed well, but it was the Larks who had most of the possession and opened the scoring.
The game continued with the Larks looking likely to score again but the Falcons kept up a strong defence led by Harry Morris who saved the day on several occasions.
The Falcons eventually managed to break out of defence and win a penalty kick which was dispatched by Luke Young to level the scores.
Young then scored again with an excellent strike from a free kick mid-way inside the Larks half to give the Falcons a 2-1 lead at half-time.
The Larks put the home side under pressure after the re-start but again their defence held out and it was the Falcons striker, Christopher Hollick who scored next mid-way through the half.
Falcons pushed for a fourth goal but this left their defence open and enabled the Larks to break through and score a second goal just before the final whistle.
