For the third time this season Chard Town FC faced Worle, having beaten them twice before this season.

Chard Town made two changes to the starting XI from their cup win over Yatton & Cleeve United with Callum Lacey and Owen Ford coming in for Conor Fielder and Cruz Harrod-Baker who both dropped to the bench.

From kick off down the slope Chard pressed and put pressure on the defence, but Worle held firm.

They had several attempts of their own but Jason Contreras was hardly troubled.

On 38 minutes a goal finally arrived and a cheeky one it was, with the defence in a high line Owen Ford noticed the goalkeeper well off his line, he chipped the ball over everyone and under the bar. Half Time 1-0

Second Half started and it was important to hold the slender lead, this wasn't to be and in only seconds Worle scored their equaliser.

This stirred the Chard players and they started to play some good football.

On 68 minutes Finlay Downes and Owen Ford were replaced by Conor Fielder and Will Board, two minutes later a great foray into the box by Conor Fielder was halted abruptly by a defender.

Jordon Clapp stood up to take it after been handed the ball by the young keeper who tried some mind games by saying "you will miss this". No chance, Jordon Clapp placed it firmly into the bottom corner.

Before full time Callum Lacey was replaced by Cruz Harrod-Baker who helped see the game out with inter play in the top corner well away from their goal.

Special mention for Alex Manley who made his 102nd appearance for Chard Town FC. The 100th appearance was missed at Bishop Sutton.

The result leaves Chard Town just three points from the play offs although Clevedon Town, who hold that position, do have three games in hand.

Next up for the Robins is a trip to fourth placed Fry Club in the league.
