Chard Town advanced to the to next round of the Somerset County League Premier and First Division Cup as they also celebrated a landmark.
The Robins defeated Worle 3-1 at Zembard Lane to progress on the day they marked 100 years at their home ground.
The club was also celebrating the first match wearing as new kit, supplied by VX3 Apparel and sponsored by Devon Truck Show.
Chard made a fast start to the game when Jordan Clapp scored inside two minutes after great work out wide by Davey.
By 10 minutes, the home side had also missed a couple of good chances with Ryan Mason hitting the post.
The home side continued to create chances throughout the first half with Mason heading over narrowly on 25 minutes and Clapp volleying over from close range.
On 44 minutes the robins got their deserved second goal as a cross from Jack Male was headed home by Clapp.
The second half started in much the same way as Chard Town created a couple of early chances. First Owen Ford fired just wide and then Thomas Boyland had a goal disallowed for offside.
On 65 minutes, Chard had their third goal as Will Board got pas his defender to pull it back for substitute Conor Fielder to score.
Five minutes later however, Chard were reduced to 10 men when Jake Davey was sent off. Shortly after, Jordan Clapp was sent to the sin bin.
Worle pulled a goal back with 10 minutes remaining and with a numerical advantage pressed for a late comeback but the Robins saw it home.
Chard advance to the next round of the cup but its back to league action at the weekend as they face Staplegrove away from home. The Robins go into the game looking to bounce back from a 5-1 defeat to Nailsea United last time out.
Staplegrove currently sit third in the league and have won three on the bounce coming into the game. Chard currently sit in mid table having won four and lost four so far this season.
