Chard Town shipped five goals at home as they were beaten comprehensively by Bishops Sutton on Saturday (August 24).

The hosts went into the game at Zembard Lane on the back of a 3-0 defeat against Fry Club a week earlier having only lost one of their first three games of the season.

The visitors scored early to take the lead in the seventh minute, but Chard quickly responded with James Boyland scoring.

By 30 minutes, Bishops Sutton had re-taken the lead and by half time they had extended their lead to 3-1. That became 4-1 on 57 minutes.

With 20 minutes to go, Chard made a couple substitutions in a bid to make a late comeback with Owen Ford and Joe Chamberlain being replaced by Conor Tubb and Ethan Underhill.

But five minutes later, Bishop Sutton added a fifth.

Chard Town now have another home game on Saturday (August 31) against Uphill Castle.
