Ahead of the big kick-off this weekend, Chard Town had their final pre-season friendly against Dorset side Sherborne Town Reserves.
The match at Zembard Lane finished 0-0 despite the visitors missing a penalty and Chard Town’s Jamie Crouch hitting the post.
A spokesman for the club said it was a ‘good work out’ and a ‘well drilled’ team.
Chard kick-off their Uhlsport season on Saturday (August 3) against Chilcompton Sport at Zembard Lane – one of three home games to start the season.
Three days later they host Staplegrove and then on Saturday, August 10, they are at home to Somerton Town.
Their first away game comes on August 13 when they face Wells City Reserves.
Last season, they finished in the top half in eighth place, with 13 wins, six draws and 11 defeats from their 30 games. They will be hoping to push towards the playoffs this season.
