It was mixed fortunes for Clevedon Cricket Club on the weekend.

The first team faced Ilminster at Dial Hill, making 259 runs altogether, the most notable contributions being Will Plummer's 78 from 54 balls and Will Carpenter's 40.

The pair's sixth-wicket partnership alone gathered 123 runs.

There were also significant scores from James Caddick, Bayley Wiggins, and Louie Woodland.

Notable bowling performances saw Jacob Ward take 4-16 and Matt Carpenter take 3-23.

Clevedon claimed victory by 111 runs as Ilminster were bowled out for 148.

Meanwhile, Clevedon's 2nd XI suffered a 71-run defeat at Golden Hill.

Golden Hill posted 161 runs before dismissing Clevedon for just 90.

Despite runs from Ben Wilson, Kian Ware and Jacob Lillington, the 2nd XI were unable to secure a win.
