ILMINSTER Town FC has announced the appointment of Jason 'Paddy' Behan as the new men's first team manager, following the departure of Darren Manley.
Despite leading the team to two semi-finals and a 10th place league finish during the 2023/24 season, Manley decided to step down.
The club has expressed heartfelt gratitude for his hard work in revitalising the team, and in aiding a smooth transition to the new management.
Behan brings significant experience to the post.
His managerial career includes his time at Street FC and assistant roles at Chard Town FC and Bridport FC, all clubs based in the Western League.
As a player, he has enjoyed notable stints with Chard Town FC, Wellington FC, Ottery St Mary, Ilminster Town FC and Combe St Nicholas.
ITFC Chairman Dan Haines said: "I am delighted that we have managed to secure the services of Paddy.
"He is very well respected locally, and also within the wider football community.
"He brings with him considerable experience of higher-level football and we see it as the perfect appointment as we look to build on the great progress made over the last 12 months and as we look to progress the side to the next level."
Behan's coaching team will include Olly Pearson as assistant manager, Steve Newton as physio, and Jason Hutchings as goalkeeper coach.
The club has also retained the services of Matt "Chuckie" Rowswell and Charlie Rutter as part of the backroom staff while actively seeking a new linesman.
The club is inviting everyone to welcome the new team and is looking forward to a successful upcoming season with Behan at the helm.
