With three matches still to play Ilminster Town are now guaranteed Somerset County Premier Division football next season.
A couple more wins from the three home matches left, Somerton, Timsbury and Wrington Redhill will secure a top ten finish which is much more where the team are in terms of performances this season, which included good cup runs the team enjoyed to the Quarter Final of the Somerset Senior Cup and Semi Final of the Somerset County League Cup.
The Blues raced to a 2-0 lead in the opening ten minutes against the already relegated Clutton, Jack Steer and Josh Phillips with the goals.
In the second half Phillips scored twice more to complete his hat trick as he showed his sharpness, apart from Phillips Harvey Saunders also had a good match on the heart of the midfield.
Thursday night the side were holding second in the table Chilcompton 2-2 with twenty minutes left to play.
When Chilcompton added a third, the best footballing side in the League showed their class by adding three more goals through Dan Peach and Josh Phillips to make it a comprehensive 6-2 victory.
The three remaining matches all kick off at the Archie Gooch Pavilion with 3.00pm kick offs. Somerton on Monday 4th May, Timsbury Athletic on Thursday 8th May and the final match of the season on Saturday 11th May home to Wrington.
