Chard Ladies Firsts 0-4 Isca Sevenths
CHARD Ladies First team faced off against a very strong Isca Sevenths at the weekend at home on the Holyrood pitch.
Despite the recent poor weather it was a sunny setting for the match and the game started well with Chard putting up a good battle for possession.
The home side's defence was strong, making it a challenge for Isca’s attacking players to break through.
Player of the match for Chard, Misha Taylor along with her fellow defensive line worked tirelessly to work the ball up towards the Isca goal.
Through the fast paced passes and well drilled teamwork, thanks to new coach Trevor Goss, the ball made it into Isca’s D several times; however Chard were unable to convert into a goal.
Chard worked hard until the very end however were unable to find the backboard throughout the game and the game ended 0-4 to Isca.
Elsewhere, the Chard Ladies Seconds lost against Sidmouth Ottery Fourths 1-2 in their match.
Sidmouth scored two goals from short corners in the first half however Chard pulled a goal back in the second through Rachel D who cartwheeled her way to the post and put it in the back of the net.
