Exeter Ladies 4ths 4-1 Chard Ladies 1sts
CHARD Hockey Club's ladies teams both had tricky weekend fixtures in which they both saw defeat.
The Ladies 1st team woke early to head to Exeter for another tough game and with a range of injuries the first half started with little motivation and some lethargic looking Chard players.
Once warmed up the side started to look a little more awake and put some pressure on the opposition and even made some appearances in the opposition D.
Despite some strong defending Exeter were able to score 2 goals in the first half.
Following some words of wisdom from at half time, Chard came out looking determined and worked tirelessly despite having no opportunity for a rest.
The hard work paid off and a lovely strike from Kez met the backboard however Exeter managed to capitalise twice more in the second half.
Player of the match was awarded to Arabella for a determined effort in midfield and Evs for strong defence.
Elsewhere, the Seconds team lost 7-0 away from home against Taw Valley Firsts in their match at the weekend.
