Somerset Junior Cup Third Round: Frome Collegians 2-1 South Petherton
SOUTH Petherton FC have been knocked out of the Somerset Junior Cup in the Third Round.
They took on Frome Collegians Reserves at the weekend and lost 2-1 in what was a close battle away from home.
In the match, both sides created ample opportunities to score but the home side were able to make the most of their chances.
Dean Caslake scored the first goal for Frome Collegians with the second goal coming from an unfortunate deflection from a South Petherton defender.
For South Petherton, whilst it was a tough way to bow out of the competition, they can hold their heads high.
It was a good cup run for South Petherton who defeated Combe St Nicholas Reserves 9-0 in Round One and then North Petherton 6-4 in Round Two.
They now switch their focus back to league football now with their next match coming up on Saturday, December 16 at home against Misterton.
