CHARD Hockey Club juniors enjoyed the chance to play in a tournament at the weekend against three other Somerset teams.
Two teams made up of Chard HC U12's players competed in the tournament organised by Cheddar Valley with Bruton and Shepton Mallet.
Each team played 4 matches and as the morning progressed, their passing improvement and wings used.
Throughout, the boys and girls battled well and heads never dropped against strong Cheddar Boys and Shepton Mallet Girls and were rewarded with a win and a draw against Bruton.
Defenders Jake Frayne, Pippa Eames and Rie Fawcett tackled strongly and cleared their lines. Hard work in midfield from Tilly Taylor and Helen Eames created chances and wingers Xavier Lee and Seb Hillier worked hard and put in some telling crosses.
Goal scorers were Helen Eames and the two U10s Flo Eames and Xavier Lee who stepped up.
Afterwards, the club thanked coaches, Gary and Tom as well as the parents on the side-lines.
