THE seniors of Cricket St Thomas golf club commenced their week on Monday with the monthly stableford competition.
In division 1, John Wandless won with 44 points over Richard Holmes with 44 points. Neil Cochran was successful in Division 2 also with 44 points, nine points clear of Roger Withers in second place. Brian Marsh won Division 3with 41 points with Ian Frost as runner up with 37 points.
On Wednesday the Saints senior match team entertained the Enmore seniors and ran out winners by 4 - 1 A day later the team travelled to Bridport hoping to complete a double over the Dorset team.
The weather was kind and the greens fast which suited the Saints team Andy Rolland & Mark Cording won the first game. Chris Gingell & Keith Hunt halved at game 2. Peter Spencer-Farr & Martin Leigh won game 3.
The following two games were won by the home side leaving the match all square. However a win on the last green by Dave Mugridge & Derek Gardener ensure the win by 3 1/2 - 2 1/2 and the double over their opponents.
The Seniors finished their week on Friday with a Bowmaker tournament. A winning score of 83 was posted by Bill Hilton, John Wandless & Peter Spencer-Farr with Bob White, Bob Barrow & Bob Rees returning a score of 80 to be runners up.
