LAST week 24 members of the senior section of the Cricket St Thomas Golf Club entered the "2 from 3 discard" tournament.
With favourable conditions, and the course playing short, the scoring was above average.
The team of Terry Hackling, Clive Fisk & Martyn Bargery were the winners with 80 points. Bob White, playing with Norman Markby and Ian Hunt were runners up with 78 points.
The Seniors held their September Stableford competition on Wednesday with 43 members taking part over three divisions.
There was a tie in Division 1 with both Dennis Hussey and Dave Mugridge returning scores of 41 points. Barrie Heath claimed third place with 40 points.
The best returns were recorded in Division 2 with Roger Withers and Norman Markby both scoring 43 points, James Siabi was third with 42 points. Another tie was witnessed in Division 3 when Terry Hackling and Tony Andrews both returned scores of 41 points. Keith Branchflower was third with 39 points.
The seniors concluded their week on Friday with a friendly 2 from 3 event. In a close finish, the team of Martyn Bargery, Mark Sanders & Tim Purrett won with a total of 85 points.
There was a tie for second place when Mark Kilpatrick's trio and Paul Jennings's team both carded 84 points.
