THE senior match team of Cricket St Thomas golf club entertained the seniors of Honiton in fine weather on Monday.
Peter Spencer-Farr and Frank Martin started with a 2&1 win in game 1. This was negated at game 2 when Keith Hunt & Roger Davis lost by the same margin. However, the following four games were successful and the CST team won by 5-1.
The rest of the seniors played a 4 man stableford competition. Paul England, Mike Hone, Roger Stone & Chris Hiam ran out winners with 131 points, five better than the second placed team, Martyn Leigh, Chris Basterfield, Doug Oliver & Rod Young.
The August individual stableford competition was held on Wednesday The golfers found the conditions to their liking and some fine scored were returned. In Division 1, Gordon Brent took the honours with 44 points.
Dave Mugridge and Mark Kilpatrick were tied in second place with 38 points. In Division 2, Roger Williams won with 39 points, beating Dave Asquith and Keith Hunt by one point.
In Division 3, Roger Withers won with 41 points over second placed Brian Marsh with 39 points.
On Thursday the CST Senior match team played a friendly match at Axecliff, running out winners by 4-2.
The seniors finished their week on Friday with a Bowmaker competition. The three man team, led by Bob Rees took the honours with 83 points. Jerry Blackburn's team were second on 82 points.
