FORTY members of the senior section of the Cricket St Thomas Golf Club attended the 4- man stableford competition on Monday.
A fine all round performance by the team led by Norman Markby won the day with 117 points, beating Peter Spencer-Farr’s team by 5 points.
On Tuesday, the seniors match team entertained the seniors of Yeovil. Captain Andy Rowland and Derek Gardener led the way with a 3 & 1 win at game 1.
This was followed by wins for Davis & Shelly (2&1), Bargery & Pedro (5&3):, and Cording & Williams (2&1).
Although the visitors narrowly won the final game, the Cricket St Thomas teamed triumphed by 4 - 1 The 4 ball better ball tournament on Wednesday resulted in a tie for first place.
The combination of Bob White & Derek Gardener with 48 points was matched by Maurice Arnold & Chris Basterfield although the former took the honours with a better back 9
