A YOUNG bowls star from Ilminster helped England win the Under 18 British Isles Bowls tournament last week.
Ilminster Bowls Club regular Oli Collins was on the team that was victorious on the day.
England won in dramatic fashion overcoming a large deficit to defeat Scotland in the final that was played in Wales.
In fact, it was Oli Collins' debut appearance for England and he was front and centre to pick up the trophy and medal with his England team mates.
A spokesperson from Ilminster Bowls Club said: "A proud moment for his nan and Ilminster member Norma Pugh.
"I am sure Oli will be thinking of his Grandad David who passed away 2years ago and would be so proud of his achievements. Fantastic achievement Oli!"
The England team faced Scotland, Wales and Ireland over the course of 6 sessions, competing in a series of mixed disciplines, including 3 Bowl Pairs (18 ends), 2 Bowls Triples (18 ends) and 2 Bowl Fours (15 ends).
