THE bad weather in the second half of the week somewhat truncated the golf competitions at Cricket St Thomas golf club.
The Senior match team travelled to Wells on Tuesday in an Avalon League match. Congratulations are due to the Captain John Wandless who won his match by 3 & 2, and led his side to victory by 3 games to 2
The seniors July medal went ahead on Wednesday, In Division 1, Danny Dowell eturned a score of net 63 to win the title. Not far behind was Terry Rutherford in second place with net 65.
The Division 2 winner was Derek Gardener who also posted net 63, one shot better tan Eric Williams in second place. Chris Basterfield was third with net 69. Ian Frost claimed first place in Division 3 with a net 63. Phil Hunt was second with net 69 and Eric Williams, third with net 70
On Monday, the PGA South West held the regional final of the Sky Caddie Pro Captains Challenge played at the Taunton & Pickeridge Golf Club.
A large field from the South West of England and South Wales contested for a finals place to be held at the prestigious PGA National Italy Argentario Golf resort in October.
The winners by a margin of 5 shots were the PGA professional, David Partridge and Club captain, Mark Ward from the Cricket St Thomas Golf club
