THE continuing dry weather assisted the Seniors of the Cricket St Thomas golf club on Monday when they held a 4ball better ball competition.

Of the 16 pairs that entered, most teams scored 40 + points. Martin & Trott took the honours with 49 points, with both pairings Frost & Hussey and England & Basterfield returning scores of 48.

Two competitions were held on Wednesday. First on the tee were 28  members of the seniors competing in the Super seniors trophy, open to those members over the age of 75.

Runaway winner was Clive Fisk who returned a score of 12 under par, 46 points, There was a 5 way tie for second place with Stuart Pope deemed to be placed second with 41 points and a better back 9 than his competitors.

Bob Barrow claimed third place.

The other seniors entered the individual stableford competition. John Weir claimed victory with a round of 48 points. Dennis Hussey finished in second place with 44 points and Peter Spencer-Far third with 43 points,

Nine teams of three played a bowmaker competition on Friday, The course was once again playing short and some fine scores were returned.

An impressive score of 82 points by the Weir/Andrews/Sweet group was enough to win the day with the trio of Heath/Leigh/Markby finishing second, one point lower.
