THE three remaining matches in the Seniors knockout competition were completed on Tuesday at Cricket St Thomas GC.
Dave Mugridge overcame Richard Forster by 3 & 2. Coombs beat Jewell by a similar score and Peter Spencer-Farr beat Chris Hiam on the final hole. All the winners now proceed to the quarter finals.
On Wednesday, 36 members of the senior section took part in a modified stableford competition where the aggregate of the four members of the team were recorded.
In a very close finish, Alan Chance, Richard Forster, Danny Dowell and Andy Rowland were the winners with 110 points.
On Thursday, the seniors hosted the main event of the week, Captain's charity day.
Prizes were awarded in a 4 ball better ball competition and for the winning aggregate scores of a selected 8 players.
The combination of John Sweet and Eric Williams won the 4 ball competition with 46 points.
The team prize was awarded to Pearce, Laughlan, Spencer-Farr, Asquith, Brent, Blackburn, Dowell and Wandless.
In a speech after the event, the Captain, John Wandless announced that the day had raised a sum of £3000 towards his charity, The Air Ambulance Service.
