ON Monday, in benign conditions, the senior section of Cricket St Thomas golf club, 33 members took part in the reverse waltz competition.
In a tight finish, the trio of Martin, Basterfield and Coombs tied with Leigh, Frost and Rowland, both teams recording scores of 76 points with the former winning by virtue of a better back 9.
Meanwhile, the seniors match team travelled to Wells where they lost their second round Somerset Bowl match by 4 - 1.
The match team entertained the seniors from Bream on Tuesday, and managed a 3 - 3 draw in which most games went to the last hole,
On Wednesday, 13 pairs entered the 4 ball better ball competition. The winners were Hackling and Blackburn with 47 points.
On Thursday, the seniors match team entertained the seniors from Weymouth. The conditions favoured the home side who ran out winners by 4 1/2 - 1 1/2.
34 seniors entered the May medal on Friday. In Division 1, an outstanding round by Gingell of 5 under par, 63 saw him win by 5 shots over second placed Williams. In Division 2, Fisk won the day with a net 67 over Forster who returned 69.
Also, congratulations are due to the 4 seniors who entered the Long Sutton Texas scramble tournament on Friday. Pope, Dowell, Evans and Dore won the event by scoring an aggregate of nett 52, winning by one shot.
