THIRTEEN pairs of Seniors of the Cricket St Thomas golf club entered the Canadian Greensome competition on Wednesday.
In this format, players take turns on the shots after the initial drives.
In a closely fought competition, teams led by Mark Haskins and Jim Laughlon both managed to record similar scores of 44 points, with the former team securing first place by virtue of a better back 9.
The pairing of Gordon Brent & Terry Hackling secured third place with 40 points.
The Saints Senior match team travelled to Long Sutton on Thursday to participate in a friendly match against their seniors.
The two teams were evenly matched, but Cording & Williams set the pace at game 1 with a comprehensive win by 8 & 6.
On Friday, 36 seniors played a 1, 2, 3 Waltz competition.
12 threesomes entered the event with each member having to register a score on the final 6 holes. In a competitive event, only one point separated the first three positions.
