THE Cricket St Thomas seniors played a St George's Day Bash on Monday.
The format was a pairs stableford competition with 15 pairs participating.
In a close contest, the pair skippered by Andy Rowland won the day with 48 points.
Dave Mugridge and partner returned a score of 44 points, as did third place skippered by Barrie Heath.
On Tuesday, the Saints seniors travelled to Weymouth to take on the Weymouth seniors. In a one sided match, the seniors lost by 5 - 1.
The main fixture on Friday was at the championship course at Mendip Springs where 28 competitors played in the second round of the Challenge Cup.
On a fine day, with the weather improving, the late starters were favoured. Only one player managed to return a score of even par. The winner was Keith Hunt with 36 points. Dave Mugridge finished runner up on 34 points with Andy Rowland in third place with 33.
This means that Hunt and Mugridge will join Hildred, Rutherford and Wandless in the final to be played at the Saint Pierre golf club later in the year.
