Taunton Vale D 4-2 Chard B
TWO goals in the final 5 minutes robbed Chard of a deserved point in their final match of this season after they had twice come from behind.
Vale were a goal up with their first incursion into the Chard D and, for a while, it looked as though Chard would struggle to compete in midfield, lacking the experience and physical presence of both Rich Jones and Gary Wheaton.
However, with the reliable centre back pairing of Steve Dare and Kevin Mooney standing firm against the tide of early attacks and young keeper Luke Bradshaw in good form, the momentum of the game began to turn.
Chard's crop of promising youngsters picked up where they left off last week.
They are growing in confidence, they are coming to terms with the physicality of the game at senior level, they are tenacious in the tackle and in harrying the man on the ball and their passing, movement and ability to beat more experienced opponents caused the home side's defenders no end of problems.
Despite defeat, the future for them looks bright on the basis of this and other recent performances.
