Taunton Vale 5-1 Chard Ladies
CHARD Hockey Club Ladies Firsts endured a tough start to 2023 with a 5-1 loss away from home against Taunton Vale.
Most of the damage was done in the first half, with Vale scoring 4 goals.
The second half saw a much improved Chard side as they fought to stay in the game and put pressure on the Vale defence.
The game began to open up and Chard managed to get a consolation goal from a short corner.
Amy Goss's strike was saved by the keeper, but Jade Dunning was there for the rebound and Lola Saxby slotted the ball into the goal on the post.
For the final 15 minutes of the game Chard continued to put pressure on Vale and had more attempts on goal than they did the rest of the match.
