ECVH 7-1 Chard Ladies
An early start on this cold Saturday morning saw the first XI travel away to ECVH. Chard knew this would be a tough game, with ECVH sitting joint top of the league.
The first half saw a sterling effort from Chard. With the defensive line of Evs Churchill, EJ Hines, Lois Butcher, Kate Phillips, Misha Taylor and Jade Dunning preventing many attempts on goal by the ECVH forwards.
ECVH were awarded a series of short corners and managed to score the first goal of the game.
Chard kept their heads up and continued to place pressure on ECVH and push forward up the pitch.
Chards only goal came in the first half, with Kate Phillips, spotting Amy Goss making a run in the middle, who spun around her player and struck the ball from the top of the D into the back of the net.
The first half ended 1-1. Unfortunately, ECVH came out fighting in the second half and their skill and speed proved to be too much for Chard.
They ended up netting 6 in the second half, making the final score 7-1.
Despite the scoreline Chard did not let their heads drop and continued battling to the end.
