Winscombe Seconds 2-1 Chard Ladies Firsts
CHARD Ladies Firsts travelled to Sidcot School on a surprisingly warm Saturday morning to face Winscombe Seconds.
The match started evenly, with both teams having opportunities to take the lead.
Winscombe were the first to break the deadlock, as a result of some sloppy marking by Chard, leaving a player free at the top of the D. The ball managed to trickle into the far right corner.
Chard didn't let their heads drop and continued battling for the equaliser. Amy Gossran down the right wing and crossed the ball to forward Kerryn Mullis who slotted the ball home.
Shortly before half-time, Winscombe restored the lead with the powerful strike into the back of the net.
Chard came out into the second half to try and get something out of the game.
Despite pressing the Winscombe defence, Chard were unable to get a goal back and the match ended 2-1.
