CHARD Cricket Club are holding coaching sessions for youngsters from January 21 to April 14.
The sessions, which have been backed by funding from the town council, will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 7pm at Holyrood School sports hall.
They will be led by the club's senior coach, Steve Dening, who will teach a range of skills, and are open to both existing and prospective club members of both sexes.
Next season Chard will cater for competitive cricket for a range of ages. Girls will be able to play in county competitions and festivals at Under-11, U-13 and U-15 levels.
Boy teams will play in the Taunton and Mid Wessex Leagues. Girls will also have the opportunity to play in these teams at U-10, U-12, U-13, U-14 and U-16 level.
