WESSEX Water has announced closures on the A30 between Sherborne and Yeovil. These areas will be closed westbound for one evening later this month as upgrade work on an access road off the dual carriageway is completed.
The 10-hour closure will take place from 8pm on Wednesday May 24 until 6am on Thursday May 25 at Babylon Hill as Wessex Water improves the side road leading to the Compton Service Reservoir.
An official diversion route will be in place but road users are being advised to carefully consider any overnight journeys while the work is taking place.
A Wessex Water spokesperson said: “The access leads directly from the A30 dual carriageway into our service reservoir but we need to improve the safety of it for our staff who regularly travel to and from the site.
“We will be completing this work overnight in time for the westbound carriageway to reopen on the Thursday morning. We apologise for any inconvenience caused while we carry out this essential improvement.’’
