AVON and Somerset Police Chief Constable Sarah Crew wins the Queen's Police Medal for distinguished service.
Her citation describes her as "an inclusive, caring and victim focused leader" and the National Police Chiefs’ Council lead for Rape and Adult Sex Offences.
She has led multiple major change programmes to improve policing n Avon and Somerset, including a programme to reduce waste and inefficiency whilse increasing services, standards and quality to the public.
She also managed a £12million technology programme to modernise the way Avon and Somerset Police officers work, with the introduction of over 3,000 body worn video cameras, 3,500 laptops, 6,000 mobile phones and wi-fi enablement in police cars.
Chief Constable Crew has sought to build links between the police and the communities they serve, ensuring her impact extends beyond policing organisations.
