THE RSPCA has launched an appeal to find out who left a frightened dog tied to a post.
The female terrier cross was found by a member of the public tied up at Burrow Hill, near Martock, on Sunday (September 5) at around 9.30pm.
RSPCA Inspector Jo Daniel, who is investigating for the animal welfare charity, said: “This gorgeous little lady was found tied up by her lead to a post.
"She is the cutest thing but very nervous and timid but her tail continually wags.
“We’re really concerned that someone could just leave a dog in such a vulnerable position so we’re really keen to hear from anyone who recognises this dog or knows who owned her.”
The dog, who doesn’t have a microchip, has been named Tilly by her rescuers and is now receiving care and attention with an RSPCA animal foster carer.
Anyone with information about who dumped the dog should call the RSPCA appeals line on 0300 1238018.
