Singer Calum Scott has revealed that he cried backstage following his performance with Take That at the Coronation Concert.
The singer explained on Lorraine this morning (May 8) to stand-in host Christine Lampard that he was overcome with emotion after being nervous about the performance.
He was joined on the sofa by singer Jerub as he discussed the performance and how he had to wait for the finale of the show, making him nervous.
Jerub suggested that Scott might have felt differently had he performed first rather than last and could’ve relaxed and enjoyed the remainder of the show.
Scott also said that the "magnitude" of the opportunity to perform for the King was also a contributing factor to him being nervous before the show and crying backstage.
He said performing for the King would be something he could tell future generations of his family about.
Following the concert, Scott took to Instagram to share two pictures of himself, one of him before the show and another after, with the second showing him with teary eyes.
He wrote: "Before and after. Words can’t describe how many emotions I am feeling right now. Thank you @takethat for the opportunity of a lifetime. X"
The Coronation Concert took place at Windsor Castle on Sunday, May 7 following the coronation of King Charles III on Saturday, May 6.
Members of the Royal Family, including Princess Charlotte and Prince George, were seen singing and dancing along at the show which also saw artists such as Katy Perry, Olly Murs and Paloma Faith perform.
