ESSENTIAL Wessex Water sewer renovation works are taking place in Ilminster, for the next three days with temporary traffic control in place along West Street.
Multi-way signals have been placed down the road on Ilminster West Street, opposite China Gardens and near West Street Fish & Chips causing disruption leading into Ilminster town centre.
This is consequent of the traffic management systems in place due to Cured-in-Place-Pipe Lining (CIPP) sewer renovation works taking place using a no dig method to prevent structural collapse.
The drainage works will be taking place from today (Monday, November 25) from 9am until Thursday, November 28 at 11.59 pm.
According to a spokesperson on the scene, after which the works will move further along the High Street and continue next week.
The spokesperson also said the works will be going on around the Ilminster area for the next four weeks and that they are sorry for the disruption.

"We'll be zipping around the area for the next four weeks," the spokesperson said.
People living in the Ilminster area should plan ahead when driving into Ilminster, especially along West Street as there has been stopped, queuing traffic reported due to the temporary lights.
"Its absolutely gridlocked," an Ilminster resident said.
