ESSENTIAL Wessex Water sewer renovation works are taking place in Ilminster, from the November 18-26 with temporary traffic lights in place for traffic control.
A rolling two-way lights traffic control signal has been placed down the road on the Ilminster High Street, opposite The Bell Inn causing disruption leading into Ilminster.
This is due to traffic management due to Cured-in-Place-Pipe Lining (CIPP) sewer renovation works taking place using a no dig method to prevent structural collapse.
The drainage works will take place until Thursday, November 21 according to a spokesperson on the scene, after which the works will move further along the High Street and continue next week.
The spokesperson also said the works will be going on around the Ilminster area for the next four weeks and that they are sorry for the disruption.
"We'll be zipping around the area for the next four weeks," the spokesperson said.
People living in the Ilminster area should plan ahead when driving along the Ilminster High Street near The Bell Inn as there has been slow queuing traffic reported already due to the temporary lights.
