Ilminster Town had a last-minute rash decision from Chilcompton Sports' goalkeeper to thank for three points on the road.
With the highly competitive game tied at 1-1, and seven minutes into injury time, the home keeper's high-footed attempt to claim a through ball caught Thomas Lee on the thigh, earning Ilminster a penalty.
With Kieran Manley injured, Ollie Pearson stepped up and converted, securing the victory for Ilminster.
The first half saw both teams evenly matched, each having a good chance to take the lead.
Chilcompton struck the post from a corner in the 15th minute, while Jack Steer went close for Ilminster, shooting just wide after beating a couple of defenders.
Two minutes into the second half, Taylor Jefferson capitalised on a defensive error, rounding the keeper and scoring to put Ilminster 1-0 up.
The lead was cancelled out in the 75th minute when Danny Carpenter headed home from a corner, leaving the Ilminster defence flat-footed.
A long kick forward then altered the course of the game, as Ilminster keeper Shay Allen misjudged the bounce of the ball.
This led to defender Louis Rutter making a last-ditch challenge to prevent a goal.
However, referee Chris Butland judged Rutter to have fouled the player first, resulting in a red card and leaving Ilminster with ten men for the final 20 minutes.
Despite Chilcompton having the upper hand with the numerical advantage, Ilminster's defence held firm.
Even with their backs against the wall, they continued to push forward, and their efforts were rewarded with the penalty that saw Pearson seal the win.
Ilminster Town's victory keeps them in second place in the Somerset County Premier League table, behind Nailsea United on goal difference, after their eighth consecutive win.
Jack Steer was named star man for his standout performance on the left flank, providing both defensive support and an attacking threat.
Next week, Ilminster Town will be in cup action, travelling to Watchet in the first round of the Somerset County League Cup for Premier and Division 1 teams.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 2pm.
The Blues will be hoping to continue their impressive form and extend their winning streak to nine games.
