A Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning in Ilminster raised an impressive £4,600 for the charity.
It was held on September 29 at Cottage Flowers, Horton Cross, attended by more than 100 people.
MP Adam Dance and councillor Val Keitch were among those who found time to enjoy the coffee and cake.
Ilminster's town crier, Andrew Fox, was present for the formal proceedings, accompanied by his wife, Julie.
Additional funds were raised through a cake delivery service to local shops and businesses, organised by Angie Blackwell from Cottage Flowers.
The service proved to be very popular.
The total amount raised by the coffee morning, cake delivery service, and a raffle prior to the event, was £4,600.
The organising committee included Angie Blackwell, Shirley Farley, president of the Ilminster Lions Club, Julie Fowler, committee chair, and Annie Roden.
Home-made cakes, jams, chutneys, plants, and nearly new items were also on sale.
Co-organiser Julie Fowler said: "We had tremendous support from local businesses and the Lions Club of Ilminster as well as the wonderful community of Ilminster and surrounding villages.
"And a big thank you to all those who gave so generously of their time and effort as well as to those who supported the event on the day – without you this would not have been possible.
"It is a marvellous result and could not have been achieved without great teamwork from everyone."
The annual coffee morning is Macmillan's biggest fundraising event, bringing people from across the UK together to raise money.
