A ‘rare and exciting opportunity’ to acquire a former textile mill near Ilminster is coming to auction.
Dowlish Ford Mill, at Ilminster in Somerset, is among 178 lots listed in the latest auction being held by one of the top five property auctioneers in the UK, Clive Emson Land and Property Auctioneers.
It has a freehold guide price of £350,000 plus and includes a range of commercial and residential buildings it will be auctioned off on Wednesday September 18.
Senior auction appraiser Audrey Smith said: “This is a rare and exciting opportunity to acquire a mixed use freehold site, located in a popular semi-rural area on the outskirts of Ilminster.
“The commercial elements comprise two large former mill buildings arranged over two floors, a large single storey workshop/store and a single storey gate house.
“The residential element consists of a detached lodge which is in a dilapidated condition.
“The buildings sit to the outer side of the site, which has vehicular and pedestrian access.
“The site requires complete updating and refurbishment and some may consider it suitable for a multitude of uses with clear potential for some form of development, subject to the necessary consents.”
