A BRAND-NEW dancing group from Ilminster preparing for their first carnival season is raising funds for the essential sound equipment and lighting.
The Ilminster Icons Carnival Dance Team, founded in February this year, held their first carnival performance in Lyme Regis, and entered South Petherton, Wellington, Axminster, Taunton, Ilminster, and Chard Carnival this year, as well as Ilminster Party in the Park.
A spokesperson for the Ilminster Icons said: “We are reaching out to our amazing community to help support the Ilminster Icons Carnival Troupe, a brand-new group full of passion, dedication, and dreams.
“These incredible kids pour their hearts into every rehearsal, working tirelessly each week to prepare for their first-ever carnival.
“The joy that performing brings to them is truly inspiring—they’re even willing to sacrifice holidays and special occasions just to dance and be a part of the carnival magic.
“Our founder, Holly, has devoted countless hours and endless energy to ensure that every detail is perfect.
“She’s not only the driving force behind the troupe but also a beacon of hope and encouragement for these young performers.
“We want to make things a little easier for her and the troupe by raising funds for essential sound equipment, lights, and other equipment that will help them truly shine on their big day.
“Every penny raised will go directly to making this dream a reality.
“Your generosity will ensure that these children have the very best start and the tools they need to put on a spectacular show, not just for their first carnival but for many more to come.
“If you can spare anything at all, it will be greatly appreciated. Let’s come together to support the Ilminster Icons and give them the amazing experience they deserve.
“Let’s make their first carnival year one to remember and set them up for a bright and successful future.”
