Chard Town Team, Chard Carnival Committee & Chard Museum joined forces to bring back Party In The Park.

This popular event was held annually prior to covid, the three groups worked together to plan and put on the event in Jocelyn Park which took place on Sunday July 28.

The event drew nearly 50 traders ranging from arts and crafts, fundraising stalls and popular Children’s rides and inflatables, there was also live music from Stevie Brown, Rise Acoustics, Jeremiah Pickard, Karl Ficarotta, Craig Isaac and we rounded the day off with the Sea Trees.

More than1000 people attended the event and enjoyed the stalls and live music.

Cllr Jason Baker said: "It was great to be able to bring this event back and he was pleased that it was so well supported, it was good to see our community coming together and shows that people enjoy these events and would like to see more of them, Jason added that it was an added bonus that the weather was also so good. The three groups are looking forward to working on future projects and events together and are keen to make the party in the park an annual event again for everyone to enjoy. "

There are several more events in the coming months which include Chard Carnival Committee’s Annual Street Fayre in Holyrood Street on 7th September, Chard Children’s Carnival & Illuminated Carnival will be on Saturday 12th October (there will also be a week of events held through the town for carnival week).

Chard Town Teams Halloween event in the town centre on 31st October & Chard Christmas lights switch on Saturday 28th November. Both Chard Town Team & Chard Carnival Committee would love to hear from anyone who would like to help with the events that they put on in the town.
