THE ORGANISERS of a festival that will soon celebrate its final birthday said they “are throwing everything we have” to make the event “the best weekend we have ever created”.

Shindig Festival will be celebrating its tenth and final birthday this week (May 23 to May 26).

The event will be held near Ilminster, making it the last dance on the Dillington Estate.

Chard & Ilminster News:

Mojo Fell and Simon Clarke Co-Directors say: “As the countdown ticks closer to zero, our excitement is soaring.

“We’re throwing everything we have at it and going to make this the best weekend we have ever created. We owe that to everyone.”

Earlier this year, Dillington Estate said they are looking to use the land for farming “and this is not entirely compatible with the festival”.

A spokesperson said: “We are looking to use the land for farming, and this is not entirely compatible with the festival.

“We are farming the land and as our operations continue to grow, we need the land for our farming, and we are planning to use the land outside Dillington House.”

Weekend and Sunday tickets are still available: https://shindigfestival.co.uk/

The event has been recommended by Emily Eavis, Glastonbury organiser, as a good alternative to those who didn’t manage to get Glasto tickets.
