A HOTEL has been evacuated after a car fire broke out in its parking area.
Fire crews were called to the Shrubbery Hotel in Ilminster yesterday night (Wednesday, May 1).
The fire service confirmed the hotel was evacuated but not damaged by the fire, which destroyed the car.
A spokesperson for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the blaze, which did not spread to the building, was accidental.
The spokesperson added: “We were called to a car well alight at that location at 7.20pm on 1 May.
“Two fire crews attended and extinguished the fire in a private car park with breathing apparatus, water, and foam jets.
“The hotel was evacuated but was not damaged by the fire. The car was destroyed, accidental cause.”
