PUPILS at an Ilminster primary school enjoyed learning about reading and books on World Book Day.
Schoolchildren at Herne View Primary School also received a visit from local storyteller Michael O’Leary.
A spokesperson for the school said: “What a cacophony of characters walked through the doors of Herne View Primary School in Ilminster this week and lots of fun as all the pupils' learning centred on reading, characters, and books for World Book Day.
“With a visit from Michael O’Leary a local storyteller, a book swap, reading cafe in KS2, shared story times with older and younger pupils and a range of other fun book-based activities World Book Day 2024 made a huge impact and proved everybody is a reader and that Herne View primary is a reading school.
“Thanks go to Miss Carver, Mrs Sainsbury, Mrs Budd, and Mrs Turner who arranged all of this as the school's English team.”
