A MOTORIST has been banned from driving after being caught speeding on the Ilminster Bypass.
John Richard Cornish, 63, of Hillhead, Colyton, Devon, was caught doing 79mph on a 60mph limit stretch of the A303 on August 3 last year.
He pleaded guilty to the offence at a hearing at Taunton Magistrates' Court.
Cornish was fined £400 and ordered to pay a £160 victim surcharge, along with a contribution of £90 towards the prosecution costs,
He also received three penalty points, leading to an obligatory six-month driving ban "due to repeat offending".
The court ruled that he must pay the total bill of £650 by February 27.
