THE A358 Donyatt, near Ilminster, is currently partially closed due to flooding after Storm Gerrit hit the county yesterday (Wednesday, December 27).
Yesterday some areas of Somerset were affected by strong winds and rain and this morning Somerset Council has confirmed that the A358 in Donyatt is currently partially closed.

In total, there were 43 storm-related incidents yesterday.
The breakdown is:
• Fallen trees/branches 31
• Debris on the highway 4
• Flooding 7
• Landslip 1
The geographical spread of these was:
• East 13
• North 7
• South 18
• West 5
Roads that remain closed following the stormy weather at the beginning of December are:
• South Area - Langport Road, Muchelney (flood water on the River Yeo/River Parrett floodplain. Emergency road closure gates shut)
• South Area - Careys Hollow, South Petherton to Seavington St Michael (landslip)
A Somerset Council spokesperson said: “With surrounding land saturated following a very wet autumn, Somerset Council is advising drivers and residents to look out for roads becoming flooded due to rising river levels and also travel cautiously, looking out for fallen debris, trees, and branches.
“Our teams will remain active through the festive period to keep roads clear and respond to any incidents.”
